How to size your nails
A flawless fit ensures your custom press-on nails look natural and last longer. Choose from our three simple sizing methods before placing your custom order.
Coin comparison method
Don’t have a sizing kit? No worries! The Quarter Method is an easy way to determine your press-on nail sizes using a U.S. quarter and a photo.
What you’ll need:
● A U.S. quarter
● Your phone camera
● A flat, well-lit surface
● Your natural nails clean and free of polish
How to measure:
1. Place a U.S. quarter flat on a piece of white paper or another plain, light-colored surface.
2. Place your hand flat next to the quarter, with your fingers spread slightly and your nails clearly visible.
3. Make sure your hand and the quarter are on the same surface and at the same distance from the camera.
4. Take a clear, straight-on photo from directly above. Avoid angles or zooming in/out.
5. Make sure the entire quarter and all 5 nails (one hand) is visible in the photo.
6. Send the photo to Glossed by Alexis with your order.
✨ Important: Please do not use a different coin or object for reference. The quarter must be a standard U.S. quarter (24.26 mm in diameter) so your nail sizes can be measured accurately.
📸 Photo Tips: Use good lighting, keep your camera directly above your hand, and make sure your nails are not covered by shadows.
Please note: The Quarter Method is an alternative sizing option and may not be as precise as using a physical sizing kit. For the most accurate fit, we recommend purchasing a sizing kit before ordering your custom press-ons.
Physical sizing kit
Not sure what size press-on nails you need? No worries! Our Sizing Kit allows you to find your perfect nail sizes before placing your custom press-on order.
Your sizing kit includes a set of sample nail tips in different sizes so you can test each nail against your natural nails and determine which size fits best.
How to use your sizing kit:
1. Place each sample nail tip over your natural nail.
2. Find the size that fits your nail from sidewall to sidewall without overlapping your skin.
3. Record the number/size that fits each finger.
4. Repeat this process for all 10 nails.
5. Keep your sizing information handy when placing your custom order.
✨ Important: Everyone’s nails are different, so please size carefully! Your sizing kit is reusable, so we recommend keeping it somewhere safe for future orders.

How to apply your press-on nails
Proper prep is the secret to a seamless, long-lasting manicure. Start with clean, dry hands, gently push back your cuticles, and lightly buff the surface of each natural nail to remove shine. Wipe away dust with an alcohol pad to ensure strong adhesion.
Apply a drop of nail glue to both your natural nail and the press-on tip (or use adhesive tabs for short-term wear). Align the tip at a 45-degree angle close to your cuticle line, press down firmly, and hold in place for 20 to 30 seconds to lock it in.
